About the Grosse Ile Taxpayers Association

The Grosse Ile Taxpayers Association (GITA) is a community non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the best long-term interests of Islanders in public policy and governmental decisions.

The organization is run by a three member board of directors who support the GITA's Platform comprised of four core values and public five public policy priorities.

The GITA also serves as a watchdog organization to educate citizens about the actions of public policy decision-makers while promoting accountability by elected officials.  Our motto is "always on watch."

In this regard, the GITA is structured as a Michigan-based Independent Expenditure-Committee -- commonly known as a Super Political Action Committee (Super PAC) -- registered with the Michigan Secretary of State (Committee ID # 519954).
